El Dorado was a Philadelphia-based rock band active in the 2000s playing loud, indie rock music across Philly venues such as North Star, The Fire, Johnny Brendas and Tritone. Guitarists Scott Collings and Matt McFerron provided loud, wall of noise distortion while the rhythm section of Matthew Rumain and Dave Lorenz laid down the melodic foundation to keep the sound just on the edge of sonic chaos. They self-released their debut EP “Loud and Clear” in 2006.

The band was a refreshing mix of the layered, wall of noise guitars found in indie rock and shoegaze bands like Swervedriver with the songwriting sensibilities of a band like Whiskeytown or early Wilco.
